Dear Colleagues,

Thank you so much for your help with this project. We're attempting to understand how institutions support teaching and learning (T&L) during work-integrated learning (WIL) experiences and how institutions support teaching and learning (T&L) as part of work-integrated learning (WIL) programs. Please read this consent document to learn about your rights and responsibilities if you choose to participate in the project.

For the purposes of this survey, we define T&L as a knowledge-center for evidence-based teaching practices that enhance student learning. T&L personnel are primarily charged with enhancing the teaching skills of faculty; examples include offering faculty workshops on specific teaching strategies for effective online and in-person courses; helping faculty to link curricula with assessment; working individually and collectively with faculty on specific areas (e.g., reflective practice, assessment practices, etc.) where they need support.

Also for this survey, we define WIL as an educational approach that uses relevant work-based experiences to integrate meaningful, work-based, experiential learning with academic curricula. WIL personnel are primarily charged with implementing and supporting this educational approach.

All responses are completely voluntary and no names of people or institutions will be released. Data will be analyzed at the aggregate level only.

Our research goal is to analyze the structure of how teaching and learning (T&L) is integrated with work-integrated learning (WIL) in order to discover both impediments and best practices to learning across the curriculum. We realize that institutions have various degrees of structural centrality for both T&L and WIL programs; for this reason, we simply refer to each as a "program," realizing that for some this may be a focused center and for others this may be a largely decentralized structure.

Please describe your institution's location.
Is your institutional role focused more on supporting faculty to teach (T&L) or on supporting WIL experiences?
How often does the WIL program collaborate with the T&L program around facilitating student learning at your institution?
